Plant Synchro Cat

Plants are amazing. They have the best recruiter in Lonefire Blossom and the best equip card in Mark of the Rose. Soon they will have their own version of Plaguespreader Zombie in Spore. This deck was born out of the idea to search and fuel Mark of the Rose, which is done through the use of Power Tool Dragon. The main deck Power Tool Dragon is used in is Gigavise. This deck is much more efficient. It uses the Synchro Cat engine in order to gain easy access to level seven synchros.

The deck generates massive card advantage by using the normal ways Cat Synchro gains advantage but, also uses Power Tool Dragon's effect to generate more plus ones. Mark of the Rose is Brain Control on steroids. It takes the opponent's monster for either a tribute or synchro.

Mystic Tomato is the deck's catalyst. He sets up Mark of the Rose while searching Sangan or Summoner Monk. The best opening the deck has is to set a Mystic Tomato. Here is a combo that only requires a Mystic Tomato and a spell card and protection (My Body as a Shield, Heavy Storm, etc.[optional depending on if they set something).

  • Player A is playing this deck. Player B is playing any other deck.
  • Player A: Set Mystic Tomato. Ends turn.
  • Player B: Summon a monster and attack to destroy the Mystic Tomato.
  • Player A: Searches Summoner Monk.
  • Player B: Ends turn.
  • Player A: Draws.
  • Player A: Send a spell to the graveyard for Summoner Monk's effect. Search Rescue Cat.
  • Player A: Send Rescue Cat to the graveyard for it's effect. Search 2 X- Saber Airbellum.
  • Player A: Synchro one X-Saber Airbellum with Summoner Monk for Power Tool Dragon.
  • Player A: Activate Power Tool Dragon's effect, shows Player B 3 Mark of the Rose. Player A gets a Mark of the Rose.
  • Player A: Plays Mark of the Rose removing the Mystic Tomato and taking the opponent's monster.
  • Player A: Attacks for at least 3900 damage (add the monster that was stolen). X-Saber Airbellum's effect discards a card.
  • Player A: Synchro X-Saber Airbellum and the stolen monster for another Power Tool Dragon and use it's effect. Get either a DDR, Mark of the Rose, or Autonomous Action Unit as the situation calls for.
  • Player A now has massive card advantage, field advantage, and life point advantage.
  • That is just one of the combos that the deck pulls off. It makes lots of aggressive pushes that require protection, that's why there are 2 My Body as a Shield and 1 Royal Decree. The Autonomous Action Units are for Power Tool Dragon and are another way to steal monsters.

The Extra deck is cramped. This deck can throw out any level synchro needed and since Power Tool Dragon and Arcanite Magician are needed in at least 2s if not 3s. Mist Worm is great. It generates a lot of advantage and is a good out to Gladiator Beast Heraklinos/Synchros where destruction is not an option. When Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier comes out it becomes a good option. It takes out 2 cards that are immediately affecting the game and one that might. Ally of Justice - Decisive Arms is another good addition when released. It destroys light decks and is a mammoth in attack power. The deck is gaining a lot of options soon. The deck has one major matchup flaw. Gladiator Beasts rip the deck to shreds. They can kill the recruiters with Gladiator Beast Murmillo and remove important cards with Gladiator Beast Retiari. In addition, Gladiator Beast Heraklinos is a pain to deal with. The only real outs are Ryko Lightsworn Hunter, Sea Koala and X-Saber Airbellum (if the deck runs Sea Koala), Mist Worm, and Trishula Dragon of the Ice Boundary (when released).
