Tele-Dad, the deck that was once the first choice of every player. Ever since Dark Armed Dragon was released in Phantom Darkness in early 2008, Dark Armed Dragon has been abused in many decks. From ReturnDad to TeleDad to SkillDad and lastly ZeroDad, Dad decks have been prominent in the metagame up until recently. Every format since it's release Dark Armed Dragon and the components to make decks based around him have been hit by the banlist to make him less effective. At first it was just a Semi-Limit to Dark Armed and a Semi-Limit to Malicious, then it was a Limit to Emergency Teleport and a Limit to Plaguespreader Zombie, and now with a Limit on Allure of Darkness and Destiny Draw the deck has all but lost it's competitiveness. However, what's quite shocking is that the deck itself hasn't died, it can still be built and it can still OTK the opponent, all it takes is some compromising decisions and a bit of magic.
If you've been playing Yugioh for longer than a year than you know about the combos of TeleDad decks. Destiny Draw to discard Malicious, remove Malicious to special summon another Malicious, Emergency Teleport to special summon Krebons, synchro for Stardust, remove Malicious for another Malicious, summon Krebons, synchro for Colossal Fighter, special summon Dark Armed Dragon, remove three darks to destroy your opponent's field and attack for game. This is the core of TeleDad and what made it so dangerous, it was fast, versatile and effective. Now however, we don't have the cards that we did back then. Luckily, just as TeleDad has been hit, so have the other fast-paced decks such as Lightsworn and Blackwings. This makes it a lot easier for TeleDad to keep up. The deck is a bit random looking, but the core idea still works. Use Gold Sarcophagus to search out Dark Armed Dragon, synchro, and try to OTK your opponent.
Playing against the Meta is now essential to playing TeleDad. Teching cards that hurt other decks is what TeleDad has to do to slow the opponent down enough to be able to keep up. Doomcaliber Knight is very effective against Gladiator Beasts and Blackwings. It stops Gladiator Beasts from tagging out and none of the Gladiator Beast monsters other than a boosted Laquari, Gyzarus and Heraklinos can kill it. Blackwings are unable to use Shura, Blizzard or Kalut slowing down their comboing quite a lot. By maining two Cyber Dragon we can not only get a similar effect against Gladiator Beasts(as not even a boosted Laquari can kill Cyber Dragon) but we can also use him to get rid of the opponent's field if they are playing Machines, Machinas, or Gadgets. Caius and Necro Gardna also help to stop all of these decks by removing key cards and blocking attacks so you can get a good setup. Thunder King Rai-Oh and Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter also stop things such as Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts and Flamvells. They cannot search, special summon efficiently, and even attacking is risky for them, not to mention Ryko can send cards you need to your graveyard(Necro, Plague, Mali, as well as Dark Armed Dragon and Dark Creator targets).
Lastly, the Side deck. TeleDad does best against Gladiator Beasts because it can Side Deck so well against it. By Siding in Skill Drain and Beast King Barbaros, Gladiator Beasts virtually have no outs to that set-up other than a Mystical Space Typhoon or a Smashing Ground. Skill Drain takes away all their effects, meaning they can't tag or even use a Gyzarus combo. Against Blackwings it's best to side in Doomcaliber Knight and Thunder King Rai-Oh, as well as Lightning Vortex and Starlight Road. The first two stop Blackwing's main source of synergy and speed, whilst Lightning Vortex keeps them from swarming and Starlight Road protects you from Icarus Attack and such. Against Machines, Siding in Lightning Vortex, Doomcaliber Knight and System down is for the best. System Down, as the name suggestions, completely destroys Machines. It basically removes the opponent's entire field and graveyard, leaving no hope for a use of Overload Fusion and leaves them completely open for an attack. Against Flamvells it's best to side as you would against Gladiator Beasts: Skill Drain, Barbaros, Oppression, and Vortex. By using good knowledge of your Side Deck you can effectively take down your opponent.
As a quick note, if you main at least five light monsters, main Chaos Sorcerer, if you don't but Side into at least five lights, Side in Chaos Sorcerer.
